Could you please upload a video on how to remove the actual crank assembly for a jeep wrangler 99 full steel door? My crank ball joints (if it has them) sounds all grindy. I need to replace it... I just found a ...
I just found a youtube video which showed another way of removing the window crank without using any special tool. It is by sliding a rag between the door panel and the crank, hard enough to force open the C clip and thus the crank itself. It is a very good method because? you don't have to have that special metal tool shown in this video. I have gone to my DIY hardware shop and this tool was not sold there.

Thanks so much for ...
Thanks so much for posting your video. It has? helped me to remove the window crank of my car so that I could replace a broken plastic lock tab. My car is a 1992 Mitsubishi Lancer model and the C clip of the window crank or winder was positioned 180 degrees to what is shown in this video. The open section of the clip was facing the long crank arm. I removed it by squeezing my fingers into the crank and pushing the C clip open.

Elusiveity - yes, ...
Elusiveity - yes, you can either use a very thin scredriver or you could bend a piece of stiff coat-hanger as well. ? I ended up buying the tool (it's been a while but I think it was less than $10.00) but before I bought the tool I just used one of my very small Sears Craftsman screwdrivers. The tool makes it easier but it's not a necessity. Just remember that you're trying to push the spring clamp that's on there out of the grooves in the crank shaft. I hope this is helpful.

Thanks for the help ...
Thanks for the help, however not everyone has access to a proper tool for removing window cranks. Is there a backyard-alternative? (Something like,? specifically shaped chicken wire, etc.)
